WEDDING: Michael + Jeanaiah

Farmington Hills, Michigan

Usually I post a larger part of my images in color, but for this couples love story, black and white seemed to be more fitting.  The timeless / classic quality of black and white that could suggest any era is what attracts Jeanaiah to it.  Just like black and white, Michael and Jeanaiah each have a clearly defined identity that composes their relationship.  Meeting online, it was Michael who pursued Jeanaiah.  It wasn't until Michael's message caught her attention that their relationship turned into a cyber romance. He asked, "When was the last time you've had a really hard laugh, like stomach curling." This was the question that started it all.  They soon found out there was a deep connection between the two of them where chemistry and electricity now co-exist.

Jeanaiah started her morning at The Original Pinup Salon where the bridal party had their hair and makeup done by Jeanaiah.  While doing her own makeup in the bridal suite at the Longacre House, she held back tears as her maid of honor and also her mom, told her how beautiful she looked and how proud she was.  I loved that Mike and Jeanaiah's puppy attended the ceremony, carried down the aisle by Mike's mom and that Mike introduced the bridal party to the reception as if they were a team of basketball players making their grand entrance to the court.  Each of their first dances were special in their own way and I loved being there for it.

Wishing that you keep falling in love with each other again and again.  Have the most wonderful married life!

WEDDING: Adam + Whitney

Hart, Michigan

Adam and Whitney’s wedding day will always be a special memory of mine.  Not only was it the first time I worked with the amazing Kendra Stanley-Mills (on her birthday!), but it was the first wedding of my career.  I was anxious as all get out but by the end of the day I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be.  There's something magical about documenting weddings and I look forward to feeling that many times more.

The reception was on the golf course that Whitney’s family owns; the place she played with her Barbie dolls on the greens with her sisters. The flower girl dresses were made by Whitney’s mother, so were the invitations and the paper flower decorations. The day started out a bit gloomy but then we had the most glorious sunset to end the night of their perfect day.  This day, start to finish, was full of warmth and goodness. May your marriage always carry those same qualities in your heart.

WEDDING: Lanny + Alyson

Stanwood, Michigan

The two met in a local bar the night Alyson went out to celebrate her sister’s birthday.  Five years later on the anniversary of their first date, Lanny proposed to Alyson in their home while secretly recording the whole thing.  A year and four days later, on an unusually warm December day, Lanny and Alyson shared their intimate wedding with close friends and family.  The Alpine House, where the two were married, overlooked a castle and could have operated as a rustic ski lodge.  I loved how Alyson and her sister, Chelsea, reenacted a scene from Alyson’s favorite TV series, Friends, how both Alyson and Lanny got dressed on opposite ends of Alyson’s Grandparents home and the uncontrollable smiles that lasted all day long.   Thank you, Alyson and Lanny, for sharing your moments so openly with me.  May you always remember the love shared on this special day.  Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!
